“Kevin” the Flagstaff Hill R-7 School Koala

November 12, 2014

It’s not everyday that you can enjoy the company of a koala so close to your place of work and play. After returning from a check-up at the Koala Rescue, “Kevin the Koala” returned to our school property and took up roost in the gum tree over-looking one of our green spaces. I got to eat my lunch and view the koala outside of the window – it was pretty special.

“Kevin”, or “Kevanna” depending on the gender of the creature, entertained the adults and kids at every recess and lunch break. With so much commotion, it was not surprising that the animal moved up the tree more than once to get away from the excitement below. It is just amazing how these creatures can stay balanced in various positions on the branches and sleep away the heat of the day.
