After a good 20-year run as my leading footwear of choice for travel, my Solomon Hiking Boots finally lost their soles – really! Upon arrival, I discovered that my boot bottoms were disintegrating. Time to part with the old and purchase the new.
We both found sets of decent hiking boots and “broke” them in walking the area around Summertown and Uraidla with Wendy and Nigel. Our “long” walk had us up and down the hillsides, viewing the local farms and towns.
The winter weather changes rapidly and we were happy to have our sweaters/jackets and hoods as well as sunglasses during our walk. While stopping to catch our breath at the top of a hill, we took in this amazing view of the orchards and vineyards. It was a great outing with our new boots and the first of many adventures.
I really want to join you …
Beautiful landscape and boots—-definitely inviting and made for ‘walking all over me’ (landscape that is) Can’t wait to see it live:)

That valley shot is superb! Sounds like you had fun breaking in your new boots. There are some great trails on Mt Lofty (and of course a stunning view if you reach the Summit) if you enjoy hiking. 🙂
Enjoy exploring the Adelaide Hills, it’s a beautiful place!
We have done a short hike from the summit to the sixth waterfall on the trail down toward Waterfall Gully. It is a beautiful area and we’re looking forward to exploring more!
